Xiaomi’s 120W charger passes through China’s 3C certification

Previously we have covered the news of Xiaomi’s 120W charger, where we have seen some pictures of the charger which was still under development. But now it seems to be the time to make the adapter public and seems to be nearing launch alongside. Recently this fast charger has been spotted in the 3C certification website of China with the model number MDY-12-ED. This is the model number given to the upcoming power adapter.

The 3C certification mentions that the charger adapter will have a maximum 20V/6A output capacity. Needless to say, we had already discusses about the power distribution of this power adapter in our previous articles.

This charger can charge at different wattages starting from 15W up to 120W. The image shows the different charging speeds with voltage and Ampere ratings.

Xiaomi’s previous 100W charger was not released in the market and was not available for the customers, so we can also anticipate that Xiaomi was upgrading the charging capacity and this charger can charge the Mi Notebooks as well.

This charger goes beyond the capacity of present-day smartphones and can be used to charge laptops and other heavy electronics.
