Recently, Xiaomi unveiled the RedmiBook Pro 15 Ryzen Edition notebook, which uses AMD’s Ryzen 7 7840HS APU. The Xiaomi RedmiBook Pro 15 laptops have previously included AMD’s Ryzen 6000 and Intel’s 12th Gen processors, but this year the business is introducing the Pro 15 Ryzen Edition, the newest RedmiBook alternative, which has a full-on AMD configuration. The laptop is powered by AMD’s Ryzen 7 7840HS APU, which is intended to serve a global market.
The AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS “Phoenix” APU has 8 cores and 16 threads based on the Zen 4 core architecture, 8 MB of L2 cache, 16 MB of L3 cache, and clock speeds of up to 5.1 GHz, according to its specifications.
The new RedmiBook Pro 15 has a variable TDP of 35 to 54 W and includes the Radeon 780M “RDNA 3” iGPU, which has 12 compute units and operates at 2700 MHz. AMD’s Ryzen AI capabilities, which provide up to 10 TOPs of processing, are built into the CPU.
The Xiaomi RedmiBook Pro 15 Ryzen Edition has a CNC aluminum chassis with a very svelte and slim design for the laptop itself.
A 15″ panel covering the entire display has a 3.2K resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and a maximum brightness of 500 nits. Although the I/O capabilities and battery aren’t specified, it appears that the RedmiBook Pro 15 will mostly reuse the same design as the 2022 model, which had a decent number of USB options and other wired/wireless technologies.
The laptop should be available for roughly 5000 RMB, or $700 US, which is excellent considering the amount of power this APU packs in. Xiaomi hasn’t disclosed the precise cost, though. The RedmiBook Pro 15 is rumored to hit retail shelves on July 19th.
