On September 17, 2021, Xiaomi has published a patent for ‘Method and Equipment for Realizing Seismic Monitoring of Mobile Devices’ with publication number CN113406696A.
As per the patent summary, the present invention provides a method and tool for realizing the seismic monitoring of mobile devices belonging to the technical field of seismic monitoring.
The patent also described the process and its functioning. The methods described in the patent include Standardizing the virtual seismic sensor and designate the register that maps to the virtual seismic sensor. Moreover, Permitting the underlying processor to identify suspected earthquake events and calculate key earthquake data. And Configuring the bottom layer processor to write the key seismic data into the register. The main processor is also configured to transmit the key seismic data to the seismic processing center.
Xiaomi’s patent pertains to the area of seismic monitoring technology, which can transmit key seismic data to a seismic processing center. Notably, this technology is somewhat similar to the early warning system that the company integrated with MIUI that functions based on AI algorithms. Some months ago Xiaomi also claims that this technology will not only saves the cost of earthquake monitoring but also greatly increases the number of monitoring. The company believes that this makes the national earthquake monitoring and early warning network more complete. Users of the MIUI system can open the mobile phone manager and click on the “earthquake warning” function to join the earthquake monitoring and become a volunteer, Xiaomi previously revealed.
