Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 Leaked Images Reveal HyperOS 4 Design

Xiaomi skipped a direct follow-up to the Mix Fold 4 back in 2025, which has only built up anticipation for the Mix Fold 5 — and today, that wait got a little shorter. Fresh leaked images give us our first real look at the foldable’s front panel, running a brand-new version of HyperOS.

What the Leak Shows

The images, shared (and later deleted) by Weibo tipster “Panda is Bald,” reveal an inner display with large rounded corners, a notable departure from the sharper edges seen on earlier Mix Fold models. The front camera sits in a small cutout in the upper-right corner, and the overall design appears wider and more compact than its predecessors.

Just as interesting is what’s running on screen: the device is shown using HyperOS 4 with a new “liquid glass” visual style — a UI direction that’s been circulating in Xiaomi’s own promotional teasers. HyperOS 4: What’s Reportedly Coming

Beyond the visual refresh, HyperOS 4 is said to bring a handful of under-the-hood improvements:

Those kernel-level tweaks are aimed squarely at improving how the system handles background tasks — something that matters even more on a foldable juggling multiple apps across a large inner display.

Mix Fold 5: What We Know So Far

Beyond today’s images, the Mix Fold 5 has already picked up a trail of leaks. A certification listing has surfaced under model number 2608BPX34C, and the tipster behind the latest images describes it as Xiaomi’s flagship foldable release for the year.

Why the In-House Chipset Matters

Swapping a Qualcomm processor for Xiaomi’s own Xring O3 silicon would be a significant statement, following in the footsteps of other manufacturers building custom chips to fine-tune performance and efficiency for their own software. If accurate, it places the Mix Fold 5 alongside Xiaomi’s growing push toward vertical integration — hardware and software designed to work together from the ground up.
