Xiaomi 11T series roundup: Catch the specs, pricing, and what to expect here!

The Xiaomi Mi 11T Series is all set to be the first global smartphone from Xiaomi to ditch the familiar ‘Mi’ branding. The launch has been set for today or the 15th of September, we expect the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE to be announced alongside it.

The series comprises the Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro. The design of both the models should be near-identical based on the leaks we have had in the recent past.

Renders of the Xiaomi 11T Series sports a familiar design, the front of which is like the Xiaomi Mi 11X, the punch hole for the front camera is as minute as it can be and is aligned perfectly to the center.

The rear camera setup is a triple-camera setup and is a prominent module. The right edge of the phones will feature a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power key.

Coming to the display, the Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro, will have a significant upgrade over last year’s LCD panel found on the Mi 10T Series. There is no indication of any 144Hz refresh rate as on the Mi 10T, but the panels are OLED and the refresh rate is pretty good at 120Hz. The aspect ratio is 20:9 and the resolution has been capped at FHD+.

The punch hole camera on the front is said to have a resolution of 20MP, the rear cameras of the Mi 11T have a 64MP primary sensor with the OmniVision OV64B primary camera, a Sony IMX355 wide lens, and a lens that offers 3x zoom. The Pro version may come with a 108MP primary camera.

Xiaomi may have stopped using the ‘flagship killer’ tag a while ago, but there is no doubt that the Xiaomi 11T and the 11T Pro are from that category.

For starters, they will both be sporting flagship chips from the two semiconductor giants. The 11T is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC while the 11T Pro features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC.

The Pro version will have 120W HyperCharge support. Xiaomi claims that this charging tech is capable of reviving a dead phone with a battery capacity of 4,000mAh from 0 to 100% within just 15 minutes. A full charge will take a bit longer on the Xiaomi 11T Series since it is expected to arrive with 5,000mAh batteries.

Software:

The ‘Mi’ branding is not the only new thing with the new smartphones, Xiaomi has now also promised four years of update support for the first time ever, 3 years of Android upgrades, and four years of security updates.

By doing so, the Chinese smartphone OEM has joined the likes of Samsung. Both the Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro will be booting into the latest piece of stable software available at Xiaomi HQ, which is MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11.

Storage and Variants:

A European retailer had leaked the configurations, color variants, and the expected pricing of both the Mi 11T Models, the options come with an 8GB+128GB storage and an 8GB+256GB model.

The Xiaomi 11T’s 128GB variant was listed for $871 or 64,137 INR whereas the 256GB variant is priced at $908 or 66.858 INR. As for the Mi 11T Pro, the variants were priced at $1,042 or 76,725 INR and $1,079 or 79,449 INR for the 128GB and 256GB respectively.

The listing also reveals that the 11T and the 11T Pro will come in three colors, Celestial Blue, Moonlight White, and Meteorite Gray. The pricing may be inaccurate but the colors are mostly not.

Other expected products at the event:

The Xiaomi Pad 5 and the Pad 5 Pro that were earlier exclusive to China are expected to be announced globally with tomorrow’s event. They are 11″ slates with 120Hz IPS LCD displays and are powered by the Snapdragon 860 and 870 chipset.

The Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE is also expected to be announced alongside the tablets. It should be identical to the Mi 11 Lite 5G in almost every manner with the exception of a Snapdragon 778G chipset instead of the Snapdragon 780G.

How to watch the event:

The Xiaomi Global Launch event will begin at 8 PM GMT on the 15th of September(16th September, 1:30 AM IST). It will be streamed on xiaomi.com, Youtube, and even the company’s social media accounts.
