The third Xenoblade Chronicles game has been officially confirmed after years of rumors. It is anticipated that it will somehow connect the original two games in the series—which were created by Monolith Soft and released by Nintendo—in some way. Expectedly, there is a focus on massive weapons, gigantic Titan lands, and furious warfare.

The Bionis and Mechonis, two enormous titans in the universe of the Xenoblade Chronicles, engaged in combat long ago and had an impact on the development of the globe. Every community and locale is perched on the back of a similarly enormous titan, as opposed to being on the ground. To make the player feel little wherever they go, there is a concentration on location design.

The story takes set on the planet of Aionios, where two countries—Keeves and Agnus—are at war with one another. The plot has not yet been fully revealed. Characters will need to select sides and may not find themselves reaching the same conclusions, which will lead to some rifts and drama, according to sound clips from the first official teaser.

This installment will link the futures of both Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, claims a Nintendo press release. Additionally, it’s not just an afterthought. Tetsuya Takahashi, the executive director of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, claims in the game’s introduction that at least some of this third installment’s ideas date back years.

Takahashi mentions the flutes seen in the teaser and makes a hint that they would play a significant role in the third game in the same introduction to Xenoblade Chronicles 3 that Nintendo published.

Although the flute’s precise workings and purpose have not yet been disclosed, we’ll keep an open mind and report as soon as we find out more. Players control Noah and can assemble a team of up to six characters, each of whom has a unique set of weapons, techniques, and classes. The player can command their party members and strategically employ their unique responsibilities within the group to defeat enemies when they are directly approached in the overworld.

This most recent Xenoblade Chronicles game introduces a brand-new gameplay element called the Interlink System. This essentially means that members of your party are also paired up in tag-team fashion and can combine themselves to unleash significantly more potent strikes when changing into the enormous Ouroboros. Noah and Mio, Lanz and Sena, and Eunie and Taion make up these tag-team pairs.

Nintendo claims that while each player starts with a specific class, they can eventually level up and switch classes as the game goes on. Mio, the secondary character, is a Zephyr who uses the distraction to stay safe from harm while Noah, the main character, is a Swordfighter who fights best up close. You can see how you’ll need to make use of each character’s strengths to benefit the group as a whole.

Originally scheduled for release in September 2022, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will instead go on sale on July 29, 2022.
