What Fans in Spain Get

Not everything will sit behind a paywall. One match per matchday will be free in Spain. A package of matches will also go to a national free-to-air broadcaster, including every Spain match, both semi-finals and the final. Netflix has not yet named that partner.

A Tournament With History

The 2030 edition marks the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup, played in Uruguay in 1930. Spain arrives as defending champion after winning the 2026 edition, and as a co-host it will stage matches at venues such as the Bernabéu and Camp Nou. The final venue has not been confirmed.

Netflix’s Growing Football Footprint

The deal expands Netflix’s partnership with FIFA. It already holds the 2027 and 2031 Women’s World Cups in the US and Canada. According to Bloomberg, media rights for other regions, including the US, have not yet been announced.

Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria said she was in the stands when Spain lifted the trophy, and that the company is “thrilled to bring every match” to fans in Spain and Andorra. FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström said FIFA is pleased to build on its partnership with Netflix.

What It Means for Everyone Else

The deal covers only Spain and Andorra. It does not extend to Morocco or other markets, and it does not change how fans elsewhere will watch. Rights for India have not been announced.
