An official announcement confirming his transfer is expected soon, marking the 34-year-old’s move to the Catalan club. Szczęsny joined fans to watch his potential new teammates in action, as they faced the Swiss side.

With Marc-Andre ter Stegen sidelined due to injury, Szczęsny will compete with Inaki Pena for the starting goalkeeper spot. Although some reports suggest Szczęsny is keen to play regularly, Hansi Flick has made it clear that no player is guaranteed a starting position in his Barcelona lineup.

Fans can expect Szczęsny to join the team for training soon, although he’s not likely to make his debut until after the international break, as he works towards peak fitness.
