White Blast Poster: A Snowstorm, a Body and Two Stationmasters Who Don’t Trust Each Other

A remote station, a heavy snowstorm and a body nobody expected. The mystery thriller White Blast has released a new poster, and the tension between Kim Yun Seok and Koo Kyo Hwan is already hard to miss. The film opens in theatres on November 18.

What Is White Blast About?

The film follows Gap Soo (Kim Yun Seok), a stationmaster close to retirement, and his newly appointed successor, Hyun Taek (Koo Kyo Hwan). They discover a mysterious body at a rural train station cut off by a heavy snowstorm. Isolated settings are a classic ingredient of the mystery thriller genre, because there’s nowhere to go and no one else to blame.

What the Poster Shows

The poster is full of unspoken tension:

• The stare: Gap Soo looks intently at Hyun Taek.
• The blood: Hyun Taek wipes blood from the corner of his eye, hinting at the disturbing events to come.
• The expressions: The way the two men look at each other suggests strange tension between them.
• The caption: It blames everything on the “damn snow,” which only adds to the mystery at Seoloh Station.

Why You Should Watch

An outgoing stationmaster, an incoming successor and an unexplained body make for an intriguing setup. The poster raises questions without answering them. Who is the body? Why is Hyun Taek injured? And why is Gap Soo watching him so closely? With two actors known for strong screen presence, the film looks like a tense two-hander set against a bleak winter landscape.

If you want to see the leads in other work before the release, you can watch Koo Kyo Hwan in Once We Were Us and Kim Yun Seok in Escape from Mogadishu on Viki.
