On November 16, the company confirmed that the 19th edition of Backlash would indeed take place in France, specifically in Décines-Charpieu, Lyon Metropolis, on May 4, 2024, at the newly opened LDLC Arena. This event marks WWE’s inaugural pay-per-view (PPV) and livestreaming event in the country, titled Backlash France, and also signifies the first time Backlash is held outside of North America.

The event will revolve around the aftermath of WrestleMania XL and will feature wrestlers from the Raw and SmackDown brand divisions. It will be broadcast worldwide on PPV and available for livestreaming on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network in most international markets. Additionally, the May 3 episode of Friday Night SmackDown will be filmed at the same arena, marking the program’s first broadcast from France. Tickets for the event went on sale on January 12, 2024.
