Imagine losing your name, your identity, and your fortune to someone you’ve never even met. That’s the nightmare at the center of Netflix’s upcoming thriller Mousetrap, and its newly released stills show Ryu Jun Yeol, Sul Kyung Gu, and Lee Kyu Hyung caught in an unpredictable chase where nothing is what it seems.
Mousetrap: A Novelist’s Life, Stolen By A Ghost
Based on a webtoon, Mousetrap follows Moon Jae, a reclusive novelist who loses everything to a mysterious figure known only as “The Rat.” To reclaim his life, he teams up with an unlikely ally: the loan shark who was once hunting him down. Together, their pursuit blurs the line between reality and deception as darker truths come to light.
| Character | Actor | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Moon Jae | Ryu Jun Yeol | Reclusive novelist who loses his identity |
| Noja | Sul Kyung Gu | Loan shark chasing his lost money |
| Sun Yong | Lee Kyu Hyung | Detective investigating the case |
Three Men, One Elusive Target

The new stills capture Moon Jae’s disorientation as a man who’s lived isolated from the world suddenly has to navigate a very real, very dangerous conspiracy. Meanwhile, Noja is shown wielding an iron bar mid-chase, radiating the kind of relentless intensity that director Kim Hong Sun praised him for, calling him perfectly suited to the role. Detective Sun Yong, meanwhile, is seen poring over suspicious documents, hinting at how deep the investigation into “The Rat” really goes.
Mousetrap’s origins as an adapted webtoon place it alongside a growing wave of Korean dramas drawing directly from serialized digital comics, a format known for its tightly plotted thrillers and twist-heavy storytelling that translates well to the screen.
