WhatsApp has been testing numerous new features on its podium. The company presently started testing upgraded emoji reactions, the capability to move chats to iOS for more beta users, and more. WABeta has now said that the company has started testing support for voice notes in the Status section.
The feature is likely to be named ‘voice status’ and as per the report, will let customers post voice notes as WhatsApp Status. As per the report, the feature is rolling out in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.22.16.3 update. There are no details available if the company will roll out the feature for the iOS version or not.
WhatsApp voice Status: Working
It is disclosed that there will be a microphone icon in the Status section, which will allow you to upload audio as Status and this will be called a Voice Status. This will connect the current options of uploading a photo, video, links, or even text guides.
Voice Statuses will have the same privacy settings as the original Status upgrades; you will be able to choose all your contacts, exclude some contacts, or select some contacts who can see the update. And, this will also be end-to-end encrypted.
This feature is still under process, though. So, we don’t know if this will ever emerge or flash out . And if it does, we don’t know when it will reach the beta and the real users.
In the meantime, there is another upgrade for WhatsApp. Ray-Ban Stories Glasses have now got support for WhatsApp, which will allow people to hear messages aloud, make calls, and send end-to-end encrypted messages. This is in addition to taking photos and videos through the Glasses and posting them on Facebook. To call up, these smart glasses were introduced the previous year.
The announcement was made by Mark Zuckerberg and further takes Meta’s vision of an AR/VR world. He has also advised that users will soon be able to reply to Messenger and WhatsApp messages through voice commands, which is possible to take help from the integrated Facebook Assistant as per a recent leak.
