With Gini Wijnaldum all but set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, replacements have been rumoured ever since the January transfer window. The Merseyside club have tried to approach the Dutch international quite a few times to try and convince him to stay, but to no avail. Barcelona are reportedly leading the race for the midfielder, who could join Camp Nou as a free agent.

One of the names that have been linked with a move to Anfield is Juventus midfielder, Aaron Ramsey.

The former Arsenal man is not being featured regularly in the starting lineup despite being one of the highest earners at the club, and Juventus are looking for potential suitors to offload the Welshman’s wages off of their books.

While there are talks for the midfielder to leave Italy, Liverpool are not interested in his services. The profile they are looking for involves a young prolific midfielder similar to the contribution of Diogo Jota to the frontline.

On the Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano mentioned that Liverpool were looking at Renato Sanches as a potential signing in the summer and they are still only scouting the player.

With Fabinho and Jordan Henderson being forced to fill in for centre-back and the injury situation not being any easier for the Premier League outfit, a quality midfielder to not only rotate the squad but also competing for a spot for the starting XI has the potential to raise the level of all competing players.
