What a Boss Wants: Meet the Family Behind Oh Se Young’s Double Life

Every secret needs a few witnesses. The romance drama What a Boss Wants has released stills of the family surrounding Oh Se Young’s character, and each member brings a different kind of trouble. The series premieres on November 11 and will be available on Viki.

What Is What a Boss Wants About?

Based on a web novel, the drama follows Kwon Do Hyuk (Sung Hoon), a chaebol boss with no sense of taste who sets out to find the woman whose voice he heard on an album. Lee Eun Chae (Oh Se Young) is the lead vocalist of an indie band and becomes the only variable in his otherwise perfect life. A fake romance between the two sets off plenty of family commotion. If you enjoy romantic comedies, the premise promises fun.

Eun Chae and Her Secret

Eun Chae is the youngest daughter and a cheerful optimist. While job hunting, she lies about landing a position at a major corporation so her father won’t scold her. In reality, every Wednesday she performs as Soo, vocalist of the indie band India Red, while chasing her dream of becoming a singer. Her family knows nothing about it.

The Family Members

• Father, Lee Man Deok (Jo Hee Bong): He sees himself as part of the younger generation but turns conservative when it comes to his daughters. He constantly worries about his troublemaking youngest and disciplines her strictly for things like staying out overnight. Underneath, he loves his daughters deeply.
• Brother-in-law, Seo Jin Woo (Lee Choong Joo): A psychiatrist who married his first love and dotes on his wife. He’s the only one who discovers Eun Chae’s double life and keeps her secret. The catch is that he must hide the truth from his own wife, which leads to awkward situations.
• Older sister, Lee Eun Seo (Kim Jae In): A criminal psychologist known for her intelligence and striking looks. She is responsible, decisive and leads her relationship with her husband. She grows suspicious when Eun Chae can’t properly explain her workplace, so she quietly looks for evidence.

A Family That Cares Despite the Chaos

The source describes a family that clashes but cares deeply: a nagging father, a thoughtful son-in-law, a meticulous eldest daughter and a youngest daughter chasing her dream. Their different personalities add comedy to the fake romance at the story’s centre.
