101 teams, 606 students, and solutions built for the streets they actually live on. As India leans harder into technology to fix everyday citizen problems, WeSchool’s We4Tech 6.0 Exhibition and Final Jury Round showed just how much young minds have to offer. Hosted by Prin. L. N. Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, the sixth edition turned into its biggest yet, proving that student-led tech innovation is only gaining momentum.

What Made We4Tech 6.0 Stand Out
This year saw 101 teams and 606 students take part, a sharp jump from 76 teams in the previous edition. After multiple evaluation rounds, 12 teams made it to the final jury presentation, including Jalnidhi, Vendorverse, and Prism, each tackling a different citizen-focused challenge.
Two projects in particular captured attention. One used a crowd-sourced app to track waterlogged roads during Mumbai’s monsoons, letting users report and photograph flooded areas with AI verifying the accuracy of submissions. Another turned expense tracking into a gamified experience, using a virtual pet and goal alerts to help users build consistent saving habits, an emotional twist on personal finance.

Prof. Kaustubh Dhargalkar, Dean at WeSchool, noted the sharp rise in participation and pointed to programs like Global Citizen Leader, where the institute partners with close to 100 companies on live projects, giving student ideas a real shot at reaching stakeholders beyond the classroom.
This kind of hands-on, problem-first approach echoes the growing global emphasis on design thinking, where understanding human needs comes before building the technology itself.

Where These Ideas Go Next
Beyond the exhibition floor, select projects will be taken forward for consideration by relevant stakeholders, giving promising student solutions a genuine path toward real-world application rather than staying confined to an academic showcase.
