Welcome To The Jungle Slows Down, But Rs 150 Crore Is Still Within Reach

The jungle party is winding down a little, but not without leaving a solid mark. Akshay Kumar’s Welcome To The Jungle has crossed the Rs 119 crore mark at the Indian box office, even as its second Wednesday saw a noticeable dip in collections.

How Much Did It Collect?

The comedy drama, directed by Ahmed Khan, earned Rs. 1.85 crore on its second Wednesday, marking a 25% drop from the previous Monday. This took the film’s second-week cume to Rs. 27.25 crore across six days, pushing its overall total to Rs. 119.75 crore nett after adding the first week’s Rs. 92.50 crore haul.

Trade estimates suggest the film could wrap its second week around Rs. 28.50 crore, translating to nearly a 70% drop compared to its opening week performance.

What’s Next for the Film?

The real test begins in week three, when Welcome To The Jungle goes head-to-head with Ajay Devgn’s Dhamaal 4. How well it holds against this new competitor will decide just how far its theatrical run can stretch. Based on current trends, the film still has a shot at crossing the Rs. 150 crore nett mark by the time its run ends.

While the film counts as a commercial success given its relatively modest budget compared to big-ticket franchise films, the overall numbers feel slightly underwhelming next to the brand’s legacy — especially with the original Welcome ranking among the biggest grossers of its time.
