Lokesh Kanagaraj’s universe is growing, and Malayalam star Nivin Pauly is stepping in as its newest big bad. Fans have one burning question: will his character meet the LCU’s fan favourites?

At a Behindwoods event, a fan asked whether Walter, Nivin’s character, connects to Dilli and Rolex. Nivin stayed guarded but confirmed Benz is an LCU-connected film where all these characters exist in the same universe. He added that he’s a big fan of both, and that they’re part of the film. He wouldn’t say more.

That’s not a confirmation of cameos, but it’s a strong hint that the connections are there.

The Lokesh Cinematic Universe began with Karthi’s Kaithi, followed by Kamal Haasan’s Vikram and Vijay’s Leo. Lokesh directed all three. Benz is the first time he’s stepping back from the director’s chair in his own universe, though he co-wrote it and co-produces under his banner. That makes Bakkiyaraj Kannan’s handling of the world one of the film’s most interesting questions.

What’s Next for Nivin?

He was last seen leading the rom-com Bethlehem Kudumba Unit with Mamitha Baiju, which is reportedly a major hit and starts streaming on JioHotstar on October 2. He also leads Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai on October 1, directed by Ram, with Soori and Anjali. Vijayam and NP51 are also in the pipeline.
