According to recent reports, Vodafone Group PLC and the cloud division of Alphabet Inc.’s Google are planning to jointly develop data services. Reports also suggest that about 1,000 workers in the U.K., Spain, and the U.S. will be asked to create “Nucleus,” the new cloud-based storage and analytics portal, which will host Vodafone’s data.

Developers suggest that the Nucleus will be able to process around 50 terabytes of data a day within the cloud. Both Vodafone and Google have reportedly entered into a six-year agreement which also states that Vodafone will transfer data from its servers to Google Cloud.

Both companies are also reportedly developing a new system called Dynamo. Dynamo will extract and transport data across different countries where Vodafone operates. Cloud services are taking a step further in the market by utilizing the data generated from a telecom service. As a result, Google Cloud will be able to effectively execute its algorithms with data collected from millions of different users in a get-go.

The two companies also reported that they will in the future seek to sell consultancy services to other multinational businesses seeking to move huge amounts of data to the cloud. According to sources, the Nucleus being developed by Google and Vodafone will process 5,000 different data feeds.
