Vinicius Jr is now the third highest valued player in the world

Vinicius Jr has become one of the top footballers in the world over the past year. The Brazilian was valued at €50 million by Transfermarkt in October 2021, and in under a year, his value has more than doubled.

He is now the third-highest valued footballer in the world. The only two players ahead of him are Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. And this just goes to show how much the winger has improved his game, to be able to be among some of the top players of the new generation.

Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr the third-highest valued player in the world

The winger was key to Real Madrid’s Champions League and La Liga victories last season. He scored 22 goals and provided 20 assists across all competitions, and formed an outstanding partnership with Karim Benzema.

Interestingly, Real Madrid paid €50 million for him in 2018, and his inconsistency was met with a lot of criticism. But now, he has emerged as a brand new player under Carlo Ancelotti. His burst in form can be considered one of the Italian’s best achievements at Real Madrid, since the team needed a new star attacker.

And amidst the presence of Eden Hazard, Gareth Bale and Marco Asensio, it was he who stepped up to the task. With a new contract signed, it now remains to be seen how the Brazilian’s career pans out and how far he can go individually, and with the team.
