Vicky Kaushal’s Dad Guilt Is Real — And Katrina Kaif Is the Anchor That Keeps Him Going

Vicky Kaushal is many things — a National Award-winning actor, a devoted husband, a superstar. But right now, his most cherished and most challenging role is simply being a dad to baby Vihaan. And he’s not afraid to admit it hits him harder than any film set ever has.

Vicky Kaushal’s Moment His Heart Sank

Vicky took six weeks off when Vihaan was born, and the day he had to return to work hit him hard — his own words: “My heart sank. It was hard.”

That raw honesty? It’s exactly why fans connect with him so deeply.

He even experienced a four-day outdoor shoot roughly 230 km from home and felt every single kilometre of that distance.

How Katrina Kaif Holds It All Together

While Vicky is away on shoots, Katrina steps up as the steady, nurturing force at home, helping him navigate the entirely new emotional terrain of parenthood.

The couple, who tied the knot in December 2021 in a dreamy destination wedding, have built a beautifully grounded family life away from the spotlight. Parenthood, as psychologists often note, reshapes identity — and Vicky is living proof of that shift happening in real time.

The Parenting Lesson That Stuck

Vicky shared a deeply reflective thought — that Vihaan will grow up learning not from what his parents say, but from watching how they think, talk, and behave every single day.

He summed it up perfectly: whatever you want to see in your child has to show up in your actions first. That’s not just celebrity wisdom — that’s a truth every parent quietly knows.

He also admitted he now finally understands why parents always say “the child is growing up too fast” — a sentiment that used to fly over his head before Vihaan arrived.
