Vodafone Idea (Vi) has officially launched its 5G services in Bengaluru, bringing high-speed mobile connectivity to one of India’s most digitally advanced cities. The rollout that starts Wednesday is part of Vi’s phased 5G expansion in 17 of its priority circles, with a target of completing the deployment in August 2025.

Vi Rolls Out 5G in Bengaluru, Offers Unlimited Data Starting at ₹299 for Compatible Users

The Bengaluru launch is on the heels of Vi’s recent 5G rollouts in key metros like Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Patna, and Chandigarh. Bengaluru is home to a number of tech companies, so the launch should also help the city deal with growing demand for faster and more reliable internet for streaming, gaming, remote work, and other digital applications, the company said.

The company stated that all Vi users in Bengaluru with a 5G-enabled device can now enjoy its new high-speed network. Vi is offering 5G unlimited data on prepaid recharge plans from ₹299 as a special introductory offer.

To support Bengaluru’s large base of tech-savvy users, Vi has partnered with Samsung to deploy advanced and energy-efficient 5G infrastructure. The operator has also implemented AI-powered Self-Organising Networks (SON), which automatically adjust network performance in real-time to ensure optimal connectivity and user experience. This launch marks another step forward in Vi’s nationwide 5G rollout strategy.

Last month, the telecom provider kicked off services in the Delhi-NCR region, highlighting its focus on covering all major metro cities before expanding to Tier-2 locations. With a presence now in several high-priority zones, Vi is steadily progressing toward its target of covering all 17 circles where it holds 5G spectrum.

The company’s aggressive push into 5G is backed by a ₹55,000 crore capital expenditure plan over the next three years. This investment underscores Vi’s commitment to enhancing India’s digital infrastructure and delivering next-generation connectivity solutions to urban consumers and enterprises alike.
