Varanasi First Look: Fans Go Wild Over Mahesh Babu’s Rudhra on His 51st Birthday — Here’s How Twitter Reacted

Mahesh Babu’s birthday just doubled as a gift for his fans. SS Rajamouli marked the actor turning 51 by dropping two fresh stills from Varanasi, and Twitter has been in meltdown mode ever since — equal parts birthday love and pure excitement for the film itself.

Varanasi: Overview

What Rajamouli Shared

Marking the milestone birthday, the director posted the new stills with a caption teasing that ferocity isn’t Rudhra’s only side — hinting at more emotional depth to the character than fans might expect from a Rajamouli action hero.

How Fans Reacted

The response was immediate and enthusiastic. One fan praised the film’s grounding in real locations and practical work, predicting that combined with Rajamouli’s signature scale and visual effects, Varanasi could become one of the most visually striking films yet. Another called the glimpses of Rudhra’s world breathtaking, noting the atmosphere already feels unlike anything seen before.

A third commenter highlighted the sharp visual quality that comes from real-location shoots, while others went further, predicting the film would rewrite box-office records and mark a defining moment for Indian cinema.

Adding to the birthday celebrations, co-star Priyanka Chopra Jonas — who plays Mandakini in the film — shared a behind-the-scenes picture of her own, wishing Mahesh Babu on his big day and calling their journey together on Varanasi the “ultimate adventure.”
