Why India Got Left Out
India is a top 10 market for Valorant on PC, generating around $1 million a month for Riot Games. Riot even invested heavily in creating Harbor, an Indian agent. Yet the game has not been made available on the India PS Store or Xbox Store, leaving Indian console gamers to create store accounts in regions where it is available, such as the United States.
Riot’s official stance is that Valorant console will expand to more regions as they monitor matchmaking health and queue sizes. India has healthy PC player numbers, but Riot appears to be prioritizing mobile for the subcontinent instead — Valorant Mobile launched in China on August 19, 2025, with a global release set at a later date.
What Valorant Console Players CAN Do Right Now
While waiting for an official India launch, some players have downloaded Valorant console by creating a US or UK PlayStation Network or Xbox account — the game is free-to-play. However, cross-progression is supported, meaning the same Riot Games account on PC and console carries over Battle Pass progress, recruited agents, and purchased skins.
Valorant does support crossplay between consoles, so PlayStation players can play with Xbox players — but PC players cannot queue with console players.
