When an actor says prosthetics made her feel “buried alive” — and she got through it with meditation — you know the role was something else entirely.

Vaibhavi Malhotra, one of Bollywood’s rising stars, is currently making waves in the Karisma Kapoor-led ZEE5 series Brown, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Abhinay Deo. And her preparation for the show? Absolutely grueling.

Who Is Vaibhavi Malhotra?

Before diving into her Brown experience, here’s a quick snapshot of the woman behind the role:

Detail	Info
🎓 Education	Political Science, Lady Shri Ram College
📰 Postgrad	Journalism, St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai
🎬 Production House	Visvaa Productions
🌍 Social Work	Collaborated with Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi
📺 Upcoming	Dhan-Abaad (Endemol Shine)

She’s not just an actor — she’s a producer, a humanitarian, and clearly, a method performer.

Playing Ahana: A Role That Demanded Everything

In Brown, Vaibhavi plays Ahana, a character whose arc weaves through trauma, resilience, and eventual hope. The role demanded months of emotional preparation, physical training, and total psychological immersion.

But it was one particular prosthetics session that pushed her to the absolute edge.

“During the prosthetics session for a scene, it felt like you’re being buried alive. As crazy as it sounds, that’s what the feeling is. You just need to be dedicated to your craft and enjoy every process. Honestly, I was just meditating the whole time and doing Om Namah Shivaya, literally.” — Vaibhavi Malhotra

The honesty in that quote has struck a chord. Fans have flooded her with messages asking about the experience of taking on such a psychologically complex character.

This kind of commitment to method acting — where actors fully inhabit their characters’ emotional reality — is rare, and Vaibhavi’s approach reflects exactly that spirit.

Why Brown Deserves Your Attention?

Brown on ZEE5 features Karisma Kapoor in what is being touted as one of her most powerful performances to date. Director Abhinay Deo, known for sharp, layered storytelling, has assembled a cast that clearly went the extra mile.
