Vadh 2 Box Office Final Report: Sanjay Mishra & Neena Gupta’s Quiet Crime Thriller Does the Unthinkable

Let’s be real — nobody expected Vadh 2 to set the box office on fire. But what it quietly did is something worth pausing on. The Jaspal Singh Sandhu directorial, backed by Luv Films and starring the dependably brilliant Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta, has wrapped its theatrical run collecting approximately Rs. 3.35 crore nett (Rs. 4 crore gross) in India — and that’s actually a story worth telling.

The Bigger Picture: A Quiet Win Nobody Talked About

Consider this — the original Vadh (2022) ended its entire run at just Rs. 65 lakh at the box office. Its sequel just collected over 5 times that amount, without a single A-lister or massive marketing blitz. That’s not a disaster. That’s incremental, meaningful growth for a small-budget crime thriller starring talent who are typically underserved by mainstream Bollywood.

Yes, BOGO (Buy One Get One) offers were activated during the run, which means the actual earnings per ticket are lower than the nett numbers suggest. And yes, the film shared its release week with Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain: Fun On The Roll, a title backed by a strong TV fanbase — yet Vadh 2 outperformed it comfortably. There’s something quietly dignified about that.

Some trade portals have been dismissive, with one reportedly suggesting the sequel had no business being made. That’s a harsh take. Filmmaking, as we’ve long argued at technosports.co.in, isn’t just a commercial exercise. At a time when Bollywood suffers from release droughts for weeks at a stretch, discouraging content-driven films like this one is genuinely counterproductive.

Co-starring Kumud Mishra, Amitt Singh, and Shilpa Shukla, the film deserved better showcasing and audience discovery. If you’re a fan of slow-burn, character-driven crime cinema, this one should be on your OTT watchlist. Stay updated with more Bollywood box office analysis at technosports.co.in.
