Earlier, Xiaomi had launched the Redmi K30 5G smartphone, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset. Recently, a report has come out regarding the upcoming Redmi K40 smartphone (successor of the Redmi K30) which is about to get launched in 2021. It is said that this phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon SM7350 chipset. If we make a comparison between the SD 765G and SD SM7350, the SD SM7350 looks a little bit faster than the SD 765G SoC. SM7350 is the model number of that SoC, the actual name is still unknown (will be a Snapdragon 7 series Soc).

As per the AnTuTu scores, the SD SM7350 has managed to score 530,000 points, showing that it is definitely a faster one than the SD 765G, but still not that level of Snapdragon 865. The SD 865 score exceeds 600,000 points. That Snapdragon 7 series chipset is expected to be the main competitor of the Exynos 1080 platform and the MediaTek MT6893 SoC. The Redmi K40 vanilla variant will be powered by the SD SM7350 chipset whereas the Pro variant is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset.

As per the design of the Redmi K40, we’ve received the first high-quality render of it on a Chinese social network, showing the rear panel of the phone that holds a very interesting-looking rear camera setup. Though, we’ve not seen the front panel of the phone. In the previous models of the Redmi K series, we’ve seen retractable selfie cameras, but this time, it may receive a camera embedded in the screen in place of the older ones. This phone is expected to feature a flat LCD screen. In terms of battery, the Redmi K40 will be fueled by a 4,500mAH battery with faster-charging support and for multimedia, there will be the magic of stereo speakers. This phone is expected to get launched later this month.
