We already know Intel launched new 12th Gen core processors for desktops, all of them being the overclockable K-series as of now. However, next month at CES 2022 we are sure Intel will expand this lineup and will introduce new Alder Lake-S processors for desktops.
A lot of 65W based CPUs will be launching next month with the leaked stock coolers including the Core i3 12100F, Core i5 12400F, and Core i7 12700F, each being one of the representatives of the 12th Gen Core Alder Lake sub-series series. The interesting thing is the first two processors will be lacking any Efficient cores.
As we already know, Intel has been mixing both efficiency cores and performance cores in its latest 12th Gen Alder Lake processors, however, the budget Core i3-12100F and i5-12400F CPUs seem to lack the efficient ones. As these are supposed to be new budget offerings, and Videocardz have already leaked the box design.
These new budget CPUs from Intel will not only feature a new modern packaging but also feature a new Laminar RM1 stock cooler rated for 65W TDP. From the leaked materials it has been confirmed that the upcoming Core i3-12100F will have 4 cores (performance) and 8 threads while having boosts up to 4.3 GHz.
While the Intel Core i5-12400F will retain its 6 Performance cores we have seen from past and 12 threads obviously! On the other hand, the Core i7-12700F will come with similar specs as we see on the 12700KF, with 8 Performance cores and 4 Efficient cores but with a lower frequency and TDP, the performance cores are being rumoured to boost up to 4.9 GHz, a mere 100 MHz lower than 12700K.
All of the three leaked Intel 12th Gen processors are supposed to be value for money as they will lack integrated graphics. With these new CPUs, Intel looks to break AMD’s dominance and provide more value while also luring users to opt for their platform instead, it will be interesting to see how AMD reacts next month.
