Now, his new gesture adds more to his admiration. He has decided to use his earnings to help build a hostel for unprivileged children who wish to play cricket. Despite not being a high-priced player in the tournament, he Is aiming to do this memorable act.
Before being a known face in cricket, Rinku had a humble background. He had his Ranji Trophy debut in 2016, and the ISL side Kings XI Punjab picked him. However, in 2018, Kolkata bought him for 80 lakhs, and since then, he’s been an inseparable part of the KKR family.
What is his coach saying?
Masooduz-Zafar Amini, Rinku Singh’s childhood coach, said,
“He always wanted to build a hostel for young players who do not have financial resources to pursue their dreams. As he is financially sound now, hebjas decided to make it a reality.
The work started around three months ago, with Rinku watching the progress from close quarters before heading to join his team. The hostel will have 14 rooms, and each one can accommodate four trainees. A shed and a pavilion are also being constructed. These trainees can be good at the canteen being run at the place. It will cost around 50 lakhs, and the whole expenditure is being borne by Rinku.
Around a dozen of our trainees will shift to the hostel. Presently, they pay hefty rent, but here, they can get rooms and food at a marginal cost. Besides, they don’t have to waste time on money and travel as well. Almost 90 per cent of the work is done. It will get ready by next month. Rinku will inaugurate it once he is back from IPL. Hopefully, this facility will make life easier for these youngsters.”
This amazing gesture from Rinku Singh is sure to win hearts. Trainees visiting the academy will have this privilege now and they can go for their dreams with full confidence.
