The 36 teams in the league phase of the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League now know their eight opponents following the draw in Monaco on Thursday. The draw produced heavyweight clashes from the opening stage, including Barcelona vs PSG, Real Madrid vs Inter, Arsenal vs Bayern Munich and Manchester City vs Barcelona.

How the Draw Works
To determine the eight different opponents, teams were seeded in four pots based on their individual club coefficient at the beginning of the season, with the only exception being the Champions League titleholder, who was top-seeded in Pot 1. Each team was then drawn against two opponents from each pot, one of which they will play at home and one away.
The 24 highest-ranked teams proceed to the knockout phase after Matchday 8: the top eight clubs proceed directly to the Round of 16; the clubs ranked between ninth and 24th enter a two-legged playoff to reach the knockout phase; and the bottom 12 clubs are eliminated from the tournament.
