TXT’s Yeonjun Turns His Birthday Into a Gift for Others, Joins Korea’s Elite Donor Circle

Most people celebrate a birthday with cake and a party. Yeonjun celebrated his by quietly changing someone else’s day for the better.

On September 13, the Community Chest of Korea confirmed that TXT’s Yeonjun donated 100 million won (around $74,545) to fund free meals for elderly citizens and help renovate aging welfare centers. With that single act, he’s officially joined the organization’s Honor Society — a title reserved for Korea’s most generous individual donors.

What the Honor Society Actually Means

According to Soompi’s report, Yeonjun’s contribution officially earns him a spot in the Honor Society, a recognition given only to individuals who have donated at least 100 million won to the Community Chest of Korea. It’s not a small club, either — the society has welcomed thousands of members since it launched nearly two decades ago, with K-pop idols and actors making up a notable share of its more recent additions.

Yeonjun’s donation is specifically earmarked for two causes: covering meal costs for elderly citizens who may otherwise go without, and funding renovations at welfare centers that have aged past their usefulness. Both are tangible, immediate needs rather than abstract goodwill gestures — meals served this month, buildings repaired this year.

In His Own Words

Yeonjun kept his statement simple and sincere. He explained that he wanted to share the love he’s received — which he feels is more than he deserves — with more people in a meaningful way. He added his hope that even this small, genuine gesture might reach the people who need it most and bring a little more warmth into someone’s day.

It’s a sentiment that echoes what other K-pop idols have said upon joining the same Honor Society over the years, though the timing here — tying it to his own birthday — adds a personal touch that fans have picked up on immediately.

Why This Keeps Happening in K-Pop

Yeonjun isn’t the first idol to mark a birthday or milestone with a major donation, and he almost certainly won’t be the last. The Honor Society has become something of an informal tradition among Korean celebrities looking to give back once they’ve reached a certain level of success — a quiet way of translating fame into direct, measurable impact rather than just public statements.

For fans, it’s also proof that supporting an idol often means supporting the causes they care about, too. If you want to see more of Yeonjun and TXT beyond the headlines, they currently appear in “Idol Festa Attack,” streaming on Viki.
