Two Memories, One Truth: Meet the Supporting Cast of “The Perfect Lie”

What if two people lived the same moment and remembered it in completely opposite ways? That’s the unsettling question driving “The Perfect Lie,” and the drama has just unveiled new stills of the supporting cast, the people about to be pulled into the conflict.

Here’s your guide to who’s who. For more drama coverage, keep exploring Technosports.

The Perfect Lie: Overview

What Is “The Perfect Lie” About?

Min Joon Ho (Yoo Yeon Seok) and Kang Ji Sun (Seo Hyun Jin) give completely opposite accounts of the same memory. They clash fiercely as each searches for the truth. With both sure they’re right, the people around them are dragged in.

Meet the Supporting Cast

Park Seok Gu (Im Seong Jae): the human lie detector.
He’s the husband of police officer Lee Hwa Young (Ok Ja Yeon), who investigates the case involving the two leads. A Navy lieutenant commander, Park Seok Gu has an exceptional ability to detect when others are lying. In a story about clashing memories, that makes him a fascinating presence.

Kang Ji Eun (Kim Ji Hyun): the perfect big sister.
She’s Kang Ji Sun’s older sister and an anesthesiologist at the same hospital as Min Joon Ho. She has flawlessly fulfilled her roles as a doctor, wife, mother and older sister. Her carefully balanced life is thrown into turmoil when her younger sister becomes involved in a shocking incident.

Kim Hyung Soo (Lee Chun Hee): the family pillar.
He’s Kang Ji Eun’s husband and Kang Ji Sun’s brother-in-law. A loving husband and devoted father, he also takes good care of his sister-in-law, serving as a reliable pillar of support for the whole family.

Park Joong Hyun (Oh Dong Min): the easygoing friend.
He’s a friend of Kang Ji Sun who works in the hospital’s administration department alongside Min Joon Ho. Free-spirited and easygoing, he has stayed friends with Kang Ji Sun since their college days, when the two dated.

How They Connect?

The hospital is the thread tying most of them together. Min Joon Ho and Park Joong Hyun work in the same department, and Kang Ji Eun works at the same hospital as well. Add a police officer, and her husband’s talent for spotting lies, and every conversation could become a test of who is telling the truth.

Why It’s Worth Watching?

• A fresh premise. Two opposing accounts of one memory keeps viewers guessing who to believe.
• A strong ensemble. The supporting characters each have personal stakes in the case.
• An experienced director. Jo Young Min is behind “You and Everything Else.”
