Two Husbands, One Mission: Netflix’s “Husbands in Action” Is the Korean Action-Comedy You Can’t Miss in June 2026

If you love Korean cinema that blends laugh-out-loud humor with heart-pounding action, Husbands in Action is about to become your new obsession. The upcoming Netflix film is directed by Park Gyu Tae, the comedy mastermind behind the hit 6/45, and it’s already turning heads with its fresh premise and explosive on-set stills.

What Is Husbands in Action About?

The film centers on an ex-husband and a current husband who are forced to set aside their rivalry and team up to rescue a woman kidnapped by a dangerous criminal organization. Think reluctant bromance meets high-octane rescue mission — and yes, it’s as chaotic and hilarious as it sounds.

The cast features Jin Sun Kyu as Chung Sik (the ex-husband) and Gong Myoung as Min Seok (the current husband). If you’ve seen their chemistry in Extreme Job, you already know this is going to be gold.

What Makes This Film Special?

Director Park Gyu Tae explained his vision clearly: by layering the ex-husband vs. current husband conflict on top of a generational gang boss rivalry, he crafted a multi-dimensional comedy that keeps escalating. Action sequences span land, sea, and air — from a nighttime cliff-climbing rope scene to a city-center car chase that leaves an overturned vehicle in its wake.

Even a tense scene set inside a frozen storage warehouse somehow turns comedic as the two rivals huddle together for warmth. That balance of tension and humor is the film’s signature, and Park Gyu Tae sums it up best himself: “In the end, action also needs to be fun.”

This approach aligns perfectly with what Wikipedia describes as the action-comedy genre — films where physical comedy and high-stakes sequences feed off each other to maximize entertainment.
