Two Cops and Five Kids: Netflix’s New K-Comedy Just Started Filming

A detective, a secret agent wife, and five kids caught in the middle of a criminal takedown — Netflix’s newest Korean action-comedy is officially in production. Two Cops and Five Kids marks the first time Cha Tae-hyun and Uhm Ji-won will share the big screen as an on-screen married couple, and the setup alone promises chaos.

What’s the Story About

Netflix’s official logline sets the tone: a detective suddenly finds himself solely responsible for his five kids when his wife leaves on what looks like a trip but is actually a covert mission. While he juggles parenting and prepping for a promotion exam, the whole family gets pulled into an operation to take down a criminal organization. It’s a premise built for slapstick family chaos wrapped around genuine stakes.

Two Cops and Five Kids: Meet the Family

Cha Tae-hyun plays Dong-sik, the detective father juggling five kids and a career milestone. Uhm Ji-won plays Kyung-ah, his wife — a former top police officer pulled back into service for a secret National Intelligence Service mission after a decade away. Rounding out the cast as the five children are Do Young-seo, Kim Na-eun, Jung Han-sol, Sim Ji-an, and Kim Ra-hee.
