The Malayalam film industry’s friendship circles are under the spotlight again — but this time for all the right reasons. Rumours swirling about a supposed rift between two of its biggest stars, Tovino Thomas and Dulquer Salmaan, have been put to rest by Tovino himself, and his response is as warm and real as it gets.
What Sparked the Rumours?
After the success of Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, fans noticed that Dulquer Salmaan — who both produced the film and appeared in a post-credit cameo — didn’t publicly speak about Tovino Thomas, who also appeared in a cameo role. That silence was enough fuel for the rumour mill to go into overdrive on social media.
Tovino Thomas’ Response: Clear, Candid & Completely Wholesome
Speaking at a recent press event ahead of his upcoming release Pallichattambi, Tovino addressed the rumours head-on with characteristic warmth. He recalled their long-standing bond — from working as an assistant director on one of Dulquer’s films, to later playing a villain opposite him — and described their relationship as nothing but supportive throughout.
Tovino even jokingly offered to show reporters their WhatsApp conversations as proof of their intact friendship, and said they would both share a good laugh watching the rumour-fuelled clip together. He also hinted that when Lokah 2 releases, both stars will appear together publicly, putting all speculation to bed for good.

About Lokah & What’s Next
Lokah, directed by Dominic Arun and produced by Dulquer Salmaan under Wayfarer Films, was a celebrated superhero fantasy headlined by Kalyani Priyadarshan. It was a bold, genre-defining entry for Malayalam cinema. With Tovino set to lead the sequel, the excitement around Lokah 2 is already building — and the real-life camaraderie between him and Dulquer only adds to the anticipation.
On the work front, Tovino also has Athiradi releasing on May 14, 2026, co-starring Vineeth Sreenivasan and Basil Joseph. For more updates on South Indian cinema and Malayalam film news, check out TechnoSports Entertainment.
