Top 5 goalscorers in Europe in 2021

2021 is set to become a thing of the past, and we have had an insane number of goalscoring records created and broken this year. With that said, here are the top five goalscorers from the year gone by:

Top 5 goalscorers in Europe in 2021

5. Mohamed Salah – Liverpool

The Egyptian winger has been in unbelievable form since the start of the new Premier League season. He is not only the highest goalscorer in England right now, but also has the most assists. He has scored 37 goals in 53 games for the Reds.

4. Karim Benzema – Real Madrid

Benzema has become the undisputed star of Real Madrid’s attack now, and is the main goalscorer in the lineup. He has netted 38 goals in 50 appearances for Los Blancos and leads the race for the Pichichi Trophy in Spain as well.

3. Kylian Mbappe – Paris Saint-Germain

Mbappe has scored 43 goals in 53 games for the French club this season. The youngster is showing clear signs of being one of the greatest in the world in the years to come. No matter where he goes next, he can become the best in a few year’s time.

2. Erling Haaland – Borussia Dortmund

Haaland is an absolute goalscoring machine. He has scored 43 goals in just as many appearances for Borussia Dortmund, which is a sensational return for a 21-year-old. Much like his contemporary, Mbappe, Haaland is destined for greatness in the coming years.

1. Robert Lewandowski – Bayern Munich

Robert Lewandowski has scored 56 goals in 45 appearances for Bayern Munich in 2021, and is the highest goalscorer in the world right now. Despite these figures, he was unable to win the 2021 Ballon d’Or, which went to Lionel Messi for a seventh time in his career.
