Top 5 clubs in Europe with the longest unbeaten streaks in 2022

Finally, we have entered the business end of the 2021-22 season with the arrival of March. Every club wants to end the season on a high note, which has resulted in nonstop action on the football field.

Today, we’ll take a quick look at some football teams that are riding high as they enter the final lap. These five outfits appear to be in excellent shape at the moment and have made it a priority to produce favorable results.

Here are the five European teams with the longest current unbeaten streaks in their respective leagues:

Manchester United: 8 league games

Manchester United has had an exciting season in the Premier League. They lost 5-0 to Liverpool, terminated Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, won their Champions League group, and scored some nice goals under temporary manager Ralf Rangnick.

The Red Devils have had a difficult season so far, but their recent Premier League form indicates that they are on the right track. Manchester United has not lost in their last eight league games, making them the English team with the longest unbeaten record. They’ve won four and drawn just as many of those eight games.

On matchday 26, they defeated Leeds United, which was their most notable victory during that period. They won 4-2 at Old Trafford thanks to goals from Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, Fred, and Anthony Elanga.

The Red Devils’ unbeaten run will be put to the test next weekend at the Etihad Stadium when they face Manchester City, the Premier League champions. The next Saturday, on matchday 29, they will travel to City, followed by Tottenham Hotspur’s visit to Old Trafford.

Napoli: 8 league games

This season, Serie A is witnessing a nail-biting title competition. Napoli, AC Milan, and Inter Milan are now in first, second, and third place, respectively, with Inter Milan two points behind Napoli and Milan.

Napoli, in particular, have been in fantastic form recently, going eight games without losing in Serie A. Napoli has won five of their eight unbeaten games, while the remaining three have all ended in a tie at 1-1. It’s worth noting that two of those three ties occurred against Juventus and Inter Milan, two of Serie A’s most renowned clubs.

This season, Luciano Spalletti’s team has played a high-octane brand of football, which has been on full show in their previous few league games. Their tenacity and never-say-die attitude shined through in their last-gasp win over Lazio on Sunday night, securing Serie A first place. On Sunday night, the Naples-based club will face second-placed AC Milan in their next Serie A match.

Barcelona: 10 league games

Barcelona was eliminated from the UEFA Champions League group stage in December. The sky came tumbling down on them, signaling the start of the end of the Blaugrana’s illustrious European career.

Xavi, a former player, has emerged as a savior among the doom and gloom, stabilizing the ship as a capable manager. Barcelona appears to have recovered their identity under the leadership of the two-time treble winner, playing their renowned brand of smooth possession-based football. The Catalan giants have gone 10 games without losing in La Liga since their 1-0 loss to Real Betis in December.

The Blaugrana have six victories and four ties in their previous ten league matches, with their most spectacular victory coming against Atletico Madrid. Xavi’s team trounced Los Rojiblancos 4-2 at the Camp Nou in the first week of February, with Jordi Alba, Gavi, Ronald Araujo, and Dani Alves scoring. Barcelona also moved into the top four by defeating Athletic Bilbao 4-0 last weekend.

Sevilla: 11 league games

Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid are always in the heart of things in La Liga, which is usually regarded as a three-horse race. This season, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have already dropped out of the title fight, allowing Sevilla to emerge as a surprise candidate.

After 26 games, Real Madrid is still on top of the standings with 60 points, but the Andalusians are not letting them rest easy. Julen Lopetegui’s side, who are only six points behind them in second place, are waiting in the wings to take advantage of Los Blancos’ mistakes.

Since a 2-1 loss at Real Madrid in late November, Sevilla has not been beaten in the league. They have won six La Liga games and drawn the other five since their setback. When they face Deportivo Alaves on matchday 27 next weekend, they are expected to continue their unbeaten streak.

Juventus: 13 league games

Juventus struggled to protect their Serie A title for the first time in nine years last season, with Inter Milan snapping Juventus’ nine-year winning streak. They struggled for form in the early months of this season, allowing Inter, AC Milan, and Napoli to surge ahead in the title race.

The Bianconeri found their form towards the conclusion of the year and have been unbeaten since. Juventus has won eight games and drawn five games since losing to Atalanta in late November, making them Italy’s most in-form team. On matchday 21, they defeated Roma, which was their most notable victory during that period. The Old Lady came back from a 3-1 deficit to win the match 3-4 on the road.
