After a long season of football, Bayern Munich have been crowned as the Champions of Europe. The ‘Final Eight’ tournament was played in Lisbon with all the marches being a single-legged affair. This season’s Champions League has shown us a new format due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The 2019-20 Champions League has given us some exciting football and as well as some of the stars of the future over the years.

5. Dayot Upamecano

Dayot Upamecano is now in demand from every European top clubs. His defending skill and technique has caught the eye of every big team all over Europe.

RB Leipzig has made a dream run in the competition. The 11-year-old German club reached their first-ever Champions League semi-finals this season. Dayot Upamecano’s brilliant defending is one of the reasons behind that.

His performance against Atletico Madrid in quarter finals was appreciated by so many teams.

4. Rodrygo Goes

The 19-year-old Brazillian is a very talented forward. He has started only four matches in the competition this season for Real Madrid. But he showed his talent in that short span of time as well.

He has scored 4 goals in the competition including a perfect hat-trick against Galatasaray in the group stage which made him the second-youngest goalscorer of this competition.

3. Achraf Hakimi

Hakimi is another young star of Borussia Dortmund. After the struggle in the last few seasons, the 24-year-old right-back has played a vital role in Dortmund’s journey this season.

The Moroccan right wing-back has scored 4 goals in the competition this season.

He was on loan at Borussia Dortmund from Real Madrid. His brilliant performance caught the eye of Inter Milan. They have now signed him from Real Madrid for ‎€50m. Antonio Conte feels he fits perfectly into his plans for next season.

2. Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland made his debut against Genk for Red Bull Salzburg and scored three goals. He is the third-youngest player to score a hattrick in this competition.

He continued his goal-scoring form in all the matches of the group stage. But unfortunately failed to qualify for the knock-out stage as his team finished 3rd in their group after Liverpool and Napoli.

But Borussia Dortmund signed him in January and he once again had the chance of playing in the Champions League. He finished his campaign with 10 goals in the competition and became the 2nd highest goal scorer after Robert Lewandowski [15] this season.

1. Alphonso Davies

The Canadian international is the most exciting prospect of this year. He is one of the most important part of the treble winning Bayern Munich team this season.

Davies has been highly appreciated by fans, football pundits and some senior professionals also.

His speed, aggression, attacking ability, dribbling, and defending ability made him a regular starter for Bayern. He definitely has the ability to be the best left-back in the upcoming days.
