Top 10 largest stadiums in the world in 2026

While the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Australia and North Korea’s Rungrado May First Stadium are undeniably iconic sporting venues, they are no longer the world’s largest. The title of world’s largest stadium now belongs to another. Do you know which stadium currently holds that distinction?

India’s newly renovated cricket stadium, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium or commonly known as the Motera stadium, now renamed as Narendra Modi Stadium is the largest stadium in the world. It is situated in Ahmedabad, Gujarat in India. This is an unknown fact for many as this stadium isn’t as famous as the MCG, Lords, Wembley or Eden Gardens. Moreover, it got its tag of being the largest stadium in the world as recently as February 2020.
