Breaking Down the Numbers

The film’s journey at the box office showcases remarkable performance across territories. In the crucial Telugu states, OG grossed Rs. 189.50 crore, with Nizam contributing Rs. 75.75 crore and Andhra Pradesh adding Rs. 88.25 crore.

Internationally, the film shattered expectations by collecting USD 7.21 million, led by strong performances in the United States (USD 5.32 million) and solid numbers from the UK (USD 505,000) and Middle East (USD 455,000) markets.

Why This Film Matters for Pawan Kalyan

They Call Him OG marks a historic comeback for the Telugu cinema superstar. Before this release, Pawan Kalyan hadn’t delivered a certified hit in over a decade. The film ranks as the 9th highest-grossing film in Telugu states, just behind Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.

The DVV Entertainment production faced initial distributor concerns, with rights sold at blockbuster-level expectations requiring Rs. 240-250 crore to break even. While distributors in India faced losses, overseas distributors profited significantly having secured rights years ago at discounted rates.

What’s Next for the Film?

With the digital release now available, They Call Him OG officially concludes its box office journey. The film’s super-hit performance validates Pawan Kalyan’s enduring star power and sets the stage for his upcoming projects in Telugu cinema.
