What the Movie Is About

The story picks up after Bowser Jr. kidnaps Princess Rosalina, guardian of the Lumas at the Comet Observatory, hoping to harness her cosmic power for a devastating weapon. A Luma escapes to warn Princess Peach and Toad, while Mario and Luigi stumble onto the mystery themselves and team up with Yoshi along the way.

As Bowser Jr.’s scheme escalates, Peach’s castle gets launched into space, kicking off a galaxy-hopping rescue mission. The group uncovers a long-hidden connection between Peach and Rosalina that becomes central to stopping the threat, all building to a climactic showdown on Planet Bowser.

Chris Pratt and Anya Taylor-Joy return as Mario and Princess Peach, joined by Charlie Day, Jack Black, and Keegan-Michael Key. New additions to the voice cast include Benny Safdie, Donald Glover, Glen Powell, and Brie Larson.

The film draws directly from the beloved Super Mario Galaxy video game series, translating its space-hopping platforming into a family-friendly big-screen adventure.
