The Queen of Taming: Kim Young Kwang and Lee Ju Myoung Star in ENA’s Hedge Fund Meets Zoo Vet Rom-Com

A fresh rom-com pairing is coming to ENA. On September 30, the production team of the upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama The Queen of Taming (a literal translation of the title) confirmed that Kim Young Kwang and Lee Ju Myoung will star. The series is scheduled to premiere in the first half of 2027, so this is a long-range heads-up rather than an imminent release.

What Is the Story About?

The premise is a fun mix of finance and wildlife. The drama follows Ji Yong, a hedge fund manager at the top of the financial food chain, and Woo Ri, a contract veterinarian at a zoo he acquires. Their lives become tangled in an unexpected power dynamic between employer and employee. It’s a classic setup for sparks, but with a very unusual workplace.

Kim Young Kwang as Ma Ji Yong

Kim Young Kwang plays Ma Ji Yong, described as a man as fierce as a wild beast. He handles astronomical sums of money and has a genius-level instinct for investments. He’s always on edge in the cutthroat world of conglomerate families and can’t rest until he gets what he wants. The twist is that in love, he’s a complete novice, which gives him an unexpected charm and should be where the comedy comes from.

Lee Ju Myoung as Jo Woo Ri

Lee Ju Myoung plays Jo Woo Ri, a strong-willed veterinarian who’s known as the “Queen of Taming” because she’s so gifted at soothing animals. She’s fearless even in front of wild beasts and never backs down in the face of injustice. Her life takes a major turn when she meets Ji Yong, a man just as fierce as the animals she cares for.

Who Is Directing?

Song Hyun Wook, who directed Would You Marry Me?, is behind the camera. Beyond the leads and director, there’s no word on supporting cast, exact premiere date or episode count, so those details are still to come.

Why It’s Worth Watching?

An arrogant tycoon and a fearless vet is a promising setup for banter, and both leads have suitably contrasting energy. If you can’t wait, you can watch Lee Ju Myoung in Reborn Rookie and Kim Young Kwang in Mission Possible on Viki.
