Why This Is the Last Season

MGM+ renewed From for Season 5 before Season 4 even premiered, but confirmed it will be the show’s final chapter. Creator John Griffin admitted the decision wasn’t easy — he was genuinely tempted to stretch the story into a sixth season, especially since From is MGM+’s highest-rated original series. In the end, the team chose to close the story with intention rather than let it drag on.

What Season 5 Needs to Answer

Season 4 ended in chaos: Jade and Tabitha recovered the bones of the Anghkooey children, the community tore down the mythical Bottle Tree hoping to forge an escape route, Sophia turned on Elgin, and the monster Smiley slipped past a failed talisman to kill Mari. By the finale, Fromville was left completely exposed to the creatures closing in from the woods.

Griffin, showrunner Jeff Pinkner, and executive producer Jack Bender promised the final season will deliver real answers — while still leaving room for a few surprises and unresolved tension.

Who’s Coming Back

Harold Perrineau returns as Sheriff Boyd Stevens, alongside Catalina Sandino Moreno, Eion Bailey, David Alpay, and the rest of the core ensemble. The series, which draws heavily on classic small-town horror storytelling in the tradition of authors like Stephen King, first premiered in 2022 under MGM+’s former name, EPIX.
