Season 3 of The Night Agent just wrapped up with one of its most explosive finales yet — and fans are already asking the one question that matters: will there be a Season 4? The answer is complicated, and honestly, a little nerve-wracking.

| Showrunner | Shawn Ryan |
Renewal Is Likely — But Not Guaranteed
Netflix hasn’t officially greenlit Season 4, but the behind-the-scenes signals are hard to ignore. A writers’ room quietly opened in 2025, scripts are being written, and the Los Angeles Film Commission confirmed The Night Agent is among the projects approved for upcoming tax credits — a strong indicator filming is imminent.
Showrunner Shawn Ryan has been candid: the renewal still depends on Season 3’s performance. And here’s where things get tense.
The Viewership Problem Nobody Wants to Talk About
Season 3 pulled in 8.4 million views in its opening four days — impressive in isolation, but a nearly 60% drop compared to Season 1’s debut. By Week 2, cumulative views sat at 18.3 million, compared to Season 2’s 29.1 million and Season 1’s staggering 47 million over the same period.
| Season | 2-Week Cumulative Views |
|---|---|
| Season 1 | 47,000,000 |
| Season 2 | 29,100,000 |
| Season 3 | 18,300,000 |
That’s a franchise trending in the wrong direction. Netflix will be watching these numbers very closely before making any official announcement.
What to Expect in The Night Agent Season 4
If Season 4 gets the green light, there’s plenty of story left to tell. Peter Sutherland is stepping back from active duty — at least briefly — after taking a bullet and spending three seasons running on adrenaline and moral conviction. A fresher, more grounded Peter seems likely, possibly paired with Chelsea as an official field partner.
Isabel is in Barcelona, which practically begs for a European mission. The Hagan fallout is still reverberating politically. And then there’s The Father — a wildcard assassin who retired but left one very dangerous loose end.
