Makers Of The Mortuary Assistant: Making Another Horror Game

There have been many times when games have gone viral and gained a lot of momentum overnight. This applies to the horror games as well, and The Mortuary Assistant is an excellent example of this.

After its release, the game went viral, circulating on all internet forums and gaining traction among the players. And for legit reasons, The Mortuary Assistant is a superb game with cool graphics and a unique storyline.

Although there are numerous horror genre-based games available out there, this one hits differently. And now, after the huge success of The Mortuary Assistant, its creators are working on a new game that is officially licensed.

The name of this game will be Paranormal Activity and it will be a video game with a focus on paranormal activities, as you can understand from the name itself.

The due date is 2026 for the game, and for now it is considered a release window. The production is at Paramount Game Studios. While on developmental duty, there are familiar names for Brian Clarke, maker of The Mortuary Assistant, aka DarkStone Digital.

And DreadXP, with publisher Clarke co-directing the game, will be responsible for the release. So, we can say that this game is pretty much on track, and we can hope to welcome it at that time.

Talking about the storyline, the game is woven around the massively popular horror film franchise. Till now, there have been seven films, and we don’t know for sure whether some parts of all these movies are included in the game or not.

Also, there is a possibility that there will be different levels for different movies. For now, we can just assume what the gameplay will be.

In the words of Clarke,

“The success of the Paranormal Activity franchise epitomizes the power and reach of the horror genre. If you thought The Mortuary Assistant was scary, we’re taking what we learned during the development of that title and cranking it up with a more reactive and horrifying haunting system. It’s going to be intense!”

As the official blurb goes:

DreadXP’s Paranormal Activity video game will bring the franchise’s groundbreaking found-footage style to horror enthusiasts in surprising new ways, immersing them in a story that expands upon the lore and world of the films. DreadXP co-director and creative director Brian Clarke (AKA DarkStone Digital), the developer of the acclaimed The Mortuary Assistant, leads the development of Paranormal Activity. The game will feature an advanced ‘Haunt System’, which will dynamically alter the types and intensity of scares players will encounter based on their actions.”

So, stay tuned for more updates on The Mortuary Assistant and Paranormal Activity.
