Just when viewers were getting comfortable watching Sun Tae Hyung and Woo Hyun Jin build their chaotic little family with baby Woo Joo, tvN’s Our Universe delivers a gut punch. Newly released episode stills show Bae In Hyuk’s Sun Tae Hyung in tears — and making the painful decision to leave the house where he had finally started to belong.

What the New Stills Reveal

The newly released stills depict Sun Tae Hyung inside Sun Woo Jin and Woo Hyun Joo’s room. The room has been left messy due to the actions of Sun Gyu Tae, but Tae Hyung is completely focused on a notebook in his hands — and he is close to tears.

The emotional weight of the stills is undeniable. Sun Tae Hyung eventually breaks down crying, and subsequent images hint at a heavy atmosphere between him and Woo Hyun Jin. Based on the context, it appears Tae Hyung discovers something painful about his father Sun Gyu Tae’s motives and concludes the most honourable thing he can do is walk away — from the house, from Woo Joo, and from Hyun Jin.

Why This Moment Hits So Hard

Our Universe is, at its core, a found family K-drama — one where two people who never chose each other suddenly have to become each other’s world for the sake of a baby who lost everything. Sun Tae Hyung and Woo Hyun Jin are related as in-laws who don’t get along and bicker over everything — but after their siblings die in an accident, they are left to raise a 20-month-old nephew together.

What makes the departure stills so emotionally charged is how much Tae Hyung has changed since he first moved in. He seemed prickly on the outside but was actually a big softie at heart — and that softness is now being used against him by his own father. Sun Gyu Tae’s real intentions to claim Sun Woo Jin’s life insurance have already been revealed, raising tension for his next moves.

Viewers have been deeply invested, though some frustration has also crept in — many fans feel the second lead Park Yun Seong (Park Seo Ham) has been given too much screen time at the expense of the main couple. Regardless, when Bae In Hyuk cries, the entire fandom cries with him.

With only a few episodes left, the question is simple: will Tae Hyung go through with leaving, or will Woo Joo — and Hyun Jin — pull him back?
