The latest injury setback for Sergio Ramos has proven Real Madrid’s point

Sergio Ramos has returned to the Paris Saint-Germain bench. The former Real Madrid defender has been plagued by injuries this season, indicating that Los Blancos were correct in rescinding his contract offer in the summer.

He didn’t even make his PSG debut until last week, and that was his sole outing for the club thus far. He’ll now return to the bench for PSG’s Ligue 1 match against Lens on Saturday.

Situation before Sergio Ramos’s Debut

He hadn’t played a match in 207 days, the longest layoff he’d ever had in his career. Ramos has only played eight games since the beginning of the year: five with Real Madrid, two with the Spain national team, and one with PSG in what has been a forgettable year.

Due to muscle tiredness, he was ruled out of the match against Nice on Wednesday and will not go to Lens on Saturday evening.

While his team has stated that it is not a major issue, it does emphasize the fact that the 35-year-old is still far from his peak physical condition and will struggle to play two consecutive games for the remainder of the season.

About the Injury

Ramos will sit out the game due to’ muscular fatigue,’ according to head coach Mauricio Pochettino. Given Ramos’ recent return from injury and the fact that he played 90 minutes last weekend, the issue is understandable.

But, in the end, it serves as a reminder to Real Madrid that they made the right decision in allowing their iconic defender to leave before replacing him with a younger and – for the time being – more talented David Alaba.

Alaba has made an impression at the Santiago Bernabeu thus far and has been instrumental in Real Madrid’s strong start to the season.
