The Korean remake of The Intern just got two fresh reasons to get excited. New character stills reveal Kim Geum Soon and Han Ji Eun stepping into WOO22, the fictional fashion company at the heart of the film — and both are already being tipped as scene-stealers despite limited screen time.

Based on the beloved Hollywood original, this version follows Gi Ho (Choi Min Sik), a 37-year-veteran senior intern, as he joins WOO22 under Sun Woo (Han So Hee), a workaholic CEO whose fashion label has become an unexpected success story just three years after launch. With the film’s theatrical release only weeks away, these new stills are giving fans their clearest look yet at the supporting cast bringing extra warmth and edge to the story.

Kim Geum Soon Brings the Warmth as Hee Sook

Kim Geum Soon plays Hee Sook, WOO22’s in-house barista and the one coworker close in age to Gi Ho. Described as warm, affectionate, and quick with a relaxed smile, Hee Sook is said to understand the softer side of the otherwise all-business CEO Sun Woo better than anyone else at the company.

One released still shows her sharing a lunch box moment with Gi Ho, hinting at an unexpected, gentle chemistry between the two. The role has already earned her serious praise — Choi Min Sik himself called her an actress with “monstrous acting ability,” while director Kim Do Young said she leaves a lasting impact “even with a brief appearance.”

Han Ji Eun Adds Sass as Baek Ru Da

Making a special appearance, Han Ji Eun plays Baek Ru Da, WOO22’s blunt and famously picky exclusive model. In one striking scene, her character doesn’t hold back, directly questioning the CEO’s creative direction and asking if she’s “lost her touch.”

Photographed at a press wall with glamorous styling, Han Ji Eun’s Baek Ru Da radiates confidence through sharp gazes and decisive body language. Director Kim Do Young praised her as “an incredibly charming actress with an unmatched energy,” suggesting her brief screen time will still leave a strong impression.

Why This Remake Is Worth Watching

The Intern originally struck a chord for its gentle take on workplace generational dynamics, and this Korean adaptation seems poised to bring its own distinct flavor with a stacked supporting cast. With Choi Min Sik’s veteran gravitas anchoring the story and Han So Hee leading as a modern, driven CEO, the added texture from Kim Geum Soon and Han Ji Eun’s characters could be exactly what sets this remake apart from the original 2015 comedy-drama. As the September 16 release date approaches, expect more stills and trailers to build anticipation. Stay tuned to TechnoSports for continuing updates on the film’s rollout.
