A man already fighting to save his marriage now has to outrun an entire police force. KBS 2TV’s action thriller The Husband just dropped new stills for its fifth episode, and Kang Tae Joo’s desperate counterattack against a kidnapper is about to collide with a much bigger problem.
What The New Stills Reveal
The previous episode ended with Kang Tae Joo (Namkoong Min) turning the tables on kidnapper Noh Man Hee (Kim Dae Myeung) by unexpectedly appearing on his monitor screen — a signal that Tae Joo was finally ready to strike back after being outmaneuvered throughout the series. The newly released stills pick up with Tae Joo on the run again, this time from the police, racing across sand and leaping over high structures in a frantic escape attempt. Cornered by a large group of officers, he fires a warning shot into the air, leaving the outcome of the standoff completely open.

The Premise
The Husband follows Kang Tae Joo, a man on the brink of divorce who suddenly finds himself in a desperate fight against a dangerous criminal to save his wife. The show has built its tension around Tae Joo constantly being one step behind Noh Man Hee, making his newfound ability to strike first — and now his collision with the police — feel like genuine turning points rather than just another obstacle.
Why Namkoong Min Elevates The Role
Namkoong Min has built a reputation as one of Korean television’s most reliable leading men in exactly this kind of high-stakes, morally complicated role. He won the Grand Prize at the 2020 SBS Drama Awards for Hot Stove League and again at the 2021 MBC Drama Awards for The Veil, giving him a track record of anchoring tense, awards-caliber thrillers that makes his commitment to Tae Joo’s increasingly desperate situation easy to buy into.
