What Happened in Season 1 and What to Expect in Season 2

Season 1 ended with Eddie and Susie joining forces to invest in expanding Bobby Glass’s cannabis empire — but not without a trail of betrayal, murder, and chaos behind them. Season 2 picks up a year later, as Eddie and Susie’s overseas criminal expansion runs into trouble when Bobby Glass begins making increasingly erratic decisions. The central tension: do they take control of the empire, or risk losing everything?

Filming shifted to Italy for portions of production — specifically around the stunning Lake Maggiore and Verbania — adding an entirely new European dimension to the story. New Italian characters including a countess, a feared mafia boss, and a charming social climber suggest the Glass empire is going global. Returning and New Cast Highlights

The core trio of Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, and Daniel Ings all return. Joining them for season 2 is a stellar new cast including Hugh Bonneville, Michele Morrone, Benedetta Porcaroli, Giancarlo Esposito, Sergio Castellito, TV host Maya Jama, and professional boxer Chris Eubank Jr. It’s a loaded ensemble that signals the show is swinging for an even larger, more cinematic scale this time around.

Theo James himself teased the tone on Virgin Radio UK, describing the new season as “bigger and darker” with his character’s moral compass becoming increasingly “compromised” as the pull of power intensifies. For the latest Netflix series updates and streaming news, stay tuned to TechnoSports.

How Big Was Season 1?

Season 1 racked up 462.40 million hours watched on Netflix — making it the second biggest UK Netflix Original of 2024, behind only Fool Me Once. It sat in Netflix’s global Top 10 for ten consecutive weeks. The bar is sky-high — and from everything we know, season 2 intends to clear it.
