The East Palace Teaser Is Here — Nam Joo Hyuk and Roh Yoon Seo’s Netflix Ghost Drama Looks Absolutely Spine-Chilling

Period drama? Check. Ancient royal secrets? Check. Ghosts threatening to wipe out an entire bloodline? Absolutely check. Netflix’s upcoming historical fantasy The East Palace has just dropped its first official teaser and posters, and it already looks like one of the most atmospheric K-dramas of the year.

With Nam Joo Hyuk and Roh Yoon Seo at the centre of it all, this one has serious binge potential written all over it.

The East Palace : Drama Overview

What Is The East Palace About?

The drama follows Gu Cheon, who can traverse the world of ghosts, and Saeng Gang, a court lady with the ability to hear ghosts, as they are summoned by the King to unearth the cursed palace’s secrets.

The stakes could not be higher. In the teaser, a ghost’s voice echoes in the King’s ear, declaring it will wipe out the King’s bloodline. Sensing that what happened 30 years ago is now repeating itself within the palace, the King summons ghost hunter Gu Cheon and assigns Saeng Gang to keep a close watch on him.

What follows is a journey that crosses the very line between life and death. As the deep-seated grudges and secrets buried beneath the royal family slowly become unveiled, the palace gradually falls into uncontrollable chaos. soompi

What the Main Poster Reveals

The main poster features Gu Cheon standing in the middle of a pond shrouded in the red aura of the spirit world, while Saeng Gang pulls on a thick rope tied around him — a striking visual that immediately establishes their dynamic: one who enters the darkness, and one who pulls him back from it. soompi

With Cho Seung Woo adding gravitas as the burdened King, and only 8 tightly packed episodes to unravel every secret, The East Palace looks set to be a gripping, fast-paced watch from start to finish.
